Flight #26 was to determine fuel consumption with a climb to 6000'DA, cruise at 2800rpm for ~ 1 hour, and descend to land.
AWOS KPYM 230/14G23, V10, 29c/16c, 29.90, DA 1800. GTW 886#.
Conditions were bumpy so I cruised along the shoreline where the air was smooth. Image one is the track from CloudAhoy using an iPad1 with a DUAL 150 bluetooth GPS. Image two is a combined track of the AV8OR with external gps antenna and AVARE running on a Galaxy 7.7 tablet attached to my knee board with internal gps. Good correspondence with the two systems. I didn't start logging on AVARE until climbing out, so the blue line only was the AV8OR track.
The straight line segments show how well the heading hold on the autopilot was working. The small heading changes were when I changed course using the left/right functions on the autopilot. Major turns were done manually.
DA was actually 6560'. Flight data: 2800rpm, IAS 90mph, OAT 24.1, OP 50psi, OT 200f, CHT#1 375f (highest), EGT#3 890f (highest). Fuel consumption, level flight, 2800rpm, DA 6560' was ~3.8gph.
25h 13m on the Tach, so time for the 25 hour engine maintenance.
